Born in 1996, first prize at the 'CAMPUS Dirigieren' competition among the best conducting students in Germany and winner of the 'Angelo Mariani' Prize in Ravenna, Giovanni Conti began his musical studies at the Liceo musicale in Varese, his hometown. He studied conducting first with Daniele Agiman at the 'Giuseppe Verdi' Conservatory in Milan, then with Rasmus Baumann at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart. His meeting with Riccardo Muti was decisive, and he became his pupil during the sixth edition of the 'Riccardo Muti Italian Opera Academy'. From the season 2022/23 he assumed the role of Kapellmeister at the Krefeld-Mönchengladbach theatre.
